Hi Reno,

I am not sure if they have fixed the bug but yeah, I went and edited the XAML :)

The correlation bug won't arise if we are not using Message Contracts.

Hi Serena,

I'm able to fix that problem. I should use WCF Service Application to create the host library instead of using standard class library project. It's my mistake. Now, it works :)

However, there is one thing about correlation id that puzzles me. I have to use sm:header()/tempuri:CorrelationID to make the correlation works, but you're able to use sm:header()/xg0:CorrelationID on the receive activity. You mentioned this bug on your blog. Did you tweak somewhere in your code?

Hi Serena,

I followed your method to host the workflow service in IIS 7. However, whenever I run the service I always encountered WorkflowServiceHostFactory cannot resolve '...' to an activity or service type. Did I miss something?

Hi,

Are you referring to the sample versions? The 3.5 version is using LINQ2SQL whereas the 4.0 version is using EF :)

Also, are you adding to the right URL?

Hi, I am in a product which is based on this Layered Archicture. i have implemented list of methods in upto service layer here afer that i host my services in IIS.I have three services are namely EmailService,ApplicationService and GeneralSetupService and i have added three service reference in UI.Process in presentation Layer perfectly. While adding service reference client proxy code generate in App.config in UI.Process for only EmailService and ApplicationService but not generated client proxy code to GeneralSetupService.These are all i can't call GeneralSetup service methods to UI.Process.

Client proxy code needed to past to Web.config in UI.Web in presentation Layer. My Project. Hosts.Web Web.Config code is below

Hi,

You may need to contact Telerik support for your issue as that is seriously out of the scope of this sample.

Some ideas and tips for you:

Perhaps you may need to understand what Telerik control requires i.e. maybe some special form Entities or entities that implement INotifyPropertyChanged
Perhaps you may need to use ObservableCollection<T> instead of List<T> for your collections.

Just code the classes to Telerik's requirements and you should be good.

I am using Telerik product for my web site development. I am now facing issue in showing a particular record in RadGrid but i can't add/edit the particular record in RadGrid. that means i cant pass RadTextBox value to Business Entity while inserting values in presentation Layer.

Hi,

If your Workflow SQL Persistence Store is in a SQL Server, this behavior is normal because the sample is set to a very short time span (less than 1 minute) before escalating to the next stage. This is for demo sake. In real world, you would have set this delay to few days and have implemented the necessary checks to inform the user that the workflow has ended.

P.S. Please take note that the purpose of this sample is to illustrate layering concepts and not about the technology that is used. You will be required to do further reading and exploration on the technologies yourself.

I do not have an Oracle database or Oracle knowledge to work on this. So sorry. The sample was developed to illustrate to work on SQL Server only. For other database and technologies, you will have to implement it yourself.

The executaion of an instancePersistentCommande was interrrupted because the instance key 'ad1218ad-b88b-af72-a3b4-9bfd-9bfd12873d22' was not assosiated to an instance.This can occure because the instance or key has beeb cleende up.or because the key is invalid.The key may be invalid if the message it was generated from was sent at the wrong time or contained incorrected correlation data.

Hi!

Layered Architecture concepts and design practices are technology neutral. Layersample only provides an example on how it can be implemented with Microsoft technologies. Therefore, there is no fixed rule saying that you can't swap out the layers to your own technology preferences in your real world application :)

You can very well develop your own data layer that communicates with an Oracle database (or any other database). As for the sample application, I have not developed/tested it with Oracle in mind. So you may need to do some configuration and modification on your own (i.e. installing the ADO.NET Data Provider and changing some data types) to get it working.

Take note that the WF4 persistence store needs to be on a SQL Server. This is a requirement for WF4.
